Program for MasterCard Foundation Scholars.

The goal of the MasterCard Foundation Scholars program is to educate and develop bright, but economically disadvantaged, young people from Africa and developing countries who have a “give-back” ethos and will contribute to the transformation of the continent.

Within eight to ten years, the Scholarship Program is anticipated to benefit fifteen thousand young people. The following universities in the United States have partnered with the MasterCard Foundation to offer scholarships to students from Africa and developing nations: Explore the details of the MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program.

MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program at Wellesley College. 

As part of the Scholars Program, Wellesley will provide nine (9) African women extensive assistance for their undergraduate education, including scholarships, mentoring, counseling, and internship opportunities.

Program for MasterCard Foundation Scholars at Stanford University.

Over the next eight years, the MasterCard Foundation education program at Stanford University in the United States will give complete assistance to twenty bright but economically challenged students from Africa in their pursuit of scholarships in the United States. Each year, five (5) undergraduates from Sub-Saharan Africa will be supported by the Scholars Program.

In 2012, Arizona State University welcomed ten undergraduate students from seven African countries as the inaugural class of MasterCard Foundation Scholars.

The Michigan State University MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program (MSU).

The MasterCard Foundation has partnered with Michigan State University to provide undergraduate and graduate students from Sub-Saharan Africa with full tuition scholarships. The university will receive $45 million from the foundation to support 185 scholars over the course of the nine-year program, including 100 undergraduates and 85 degree students.
